The Dodge City Trail of Fame, Inc. is a walking tour of the Old Dodge City historic district. The trail is marked with sidewalk medallions and statuary to commemorate the many famous and infamous denizens of historic Dodge City. Additionally, many medallions are dedicated to notable movie and television stars who have portrayed famous Dodge Citians. The Dodge City Trail of Fame, Inc. is an ongoing project which is expected to continue for many years to come. Eventually, there should be 80 to 100 of the 24 inch diameter bronze sidewalk medallions and historic sculptures throughout the historic district. Start your walking tour at the Dodge City Convention and Visitors Bureau Information Center on Wyatt Earp Blvd near Boot Hill and Applebee's. Free personal tours with Special US Marshal Charlie Meade may be arranged for your group at any time. Call the marshal at: 620-253-9231 or contact the Dodge City Trail of Fame at 620-561-1925.
Both the Trail and the Western Heritage Center depend upon charitable donations to remain open and active. You can help with a tax deductible contribution!

As a part of the project, special dedications of the sidewalk medallions are being conducted honoring the various individuals represented along the trail, much like the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame. On Sunday, September 11th, 2005, medallions were dedicated for Gunsmoke actors James Arness, Amanda Blake, Milburn Stone, and Ken Curtis. They will join already dedicated medallions for Buck Taylor and Dennis Weaver. The ceremony took place on the 50th anniversary of the very first Gunsmoke TV broadcast and in conjunction with a full Symposium on this remarkable TV Western and its cast and crew.
Other famous and historic western figures already memorialized include such names as Wyatt Earp, "Bat" Masterson, "Doc" Holliday, Gen. George A. Custer, "Big Nose" Kate Elder to name just a few.
Current center piece of the Dodge City Trail of Fame is the incredible sculpture of Wyatt Berry Stapp Earp, a larger than life likeness of the famous lawman, which stands on the northeast corner of Central Ave and Wyatt Earp Boulevard.
